I couldnt watch it after the family scene at the beginning. I found it too real and it gave me so much anxiety.

Awesome movie. Daylight horror is not an easy thing to achieve. Pelle killed Danis family. That triggered the series of events that led her to the festival. Sredina leta film trailer. As a swedish person I can tell you that the most unrealistic thing about this movie is probably the weather being so nice, the weather is always shit on midsommar. I died when he said “I hate geese.” I dont remember ever laughing THAT hard at a Cinema Sins video. Dont you hate it when you go looking for new IKEA furniture, but all you get is sacrificed. You really know its one of the best horror movie in a decade when Tomatometer is 83. Horor film sredina leta. Man if i see a bunch of white people in a field wearing white i"m turning around. Midsommar is my favorite tradition as a Swede. This movie made me ashamed of that. It wouldve been okay to do alterations of it if people already knew a lot about the original tradition but now people truly think it is like this.

Dani"s family died during the winter; the seasonal end of the cycle. 4) The painting we see in the very beginning of the movie is a summary of the entire storyline. When that lady started singin during the sex scene the whole theater bursted out laughing. That was great haha. I just saw the Director"s Cut and it was INCREDIBLE! It disturbed and delighted in equal measure. The emotional payoff was darker and more deeply felt than the original theatrical release. I felt that the beginning of the film was definitely tied to the entire film. From the references to her parents arguing over materialistic possessions representing our capitalistic dog-eat-dog society, to how the way American society treats our elderly (which might have something to do with why the sister took the parents along with her) Florence Pugh"s character had to bear all of those things without a family, as her boyfriend is no family. All I"m saying is the first twenty minutes are imperative to the film"s emotional payoff. NO ONE can understand her grief. But these people can share her grief. I strongly recommend seeing the Director"s Cut, because it illuminates the aspects of the film I think could be easily overlooked upon initial viewing. This, sir, is an A plus film. Skoal.

I have a stupid theory to share: When the old man that failed to die by jumping, there were four people that have to hammer him, I think they"re from different age group, spring, summer, fall, winter. So the youngest one has to hammer first then the oldest the last. We know their life is divided by an 18-years season. What does 18 look like if you rotated the "8" 90 degrees and put "1" below it, yes a hammer, although the hammer used doesn"t look that obvious. Since 4x18 is also 72, if you add the old man"s age it will be 144, as an angel number it means The angels are asking you to maintain a positive and optimistic attitude and outlook on things, especially regarding some new ventures you are about to undertake., this is what I got after watching it one time, thinking about it before sleeping, then looking up the number today.
